STILT CABINS
Design Proposal - 40m2- 1-3 Levels - 2025 - west coast - new zealand
Designed as a series of cabins with differing functions, the 'Stilt Cabins' look to tread lightly on the land, reducing the impact on the surrounding environment. Consisting of an external timber structure which holds up the roof and floor, the dwelling has no internal structural walls and can be adapted to suit the requirements of the programme and site. Monolithic, modular cladding components provide the weatherproofing layer constructed from Zinc and Fibre Cement panels.
The Cabins are orientated to provide vistas unique to each dwelling and have pathways which link them to the communal spaces. Envisaged as a contemporary campsite with areas for shared activities and dinning with the ability to withdraw to your own private cabin.
